Crockpot Cranberry Sauce

A perfect holiday sauce that I make every Thanksgiving and Christmas. There’s no easier or healthier cranberry sauce. No granulated refined sugar is used; the sweet sweetness comes from pitted dates and orange. Thow everything in the crockpot and walk away for 3 hours, it’s so easy!! This way you can eat fruit in a fun, easy way! This cranberry sauce turns into a nice thick sauce for the holidays. Great for making the day before or day of. Heck, you could just transport the whole crockpot bowl once it’s done cooking.

Servings 10 (1/4 cup each)
Quantity: 2 1/2 cups

12 oz package fresh cranberries, whole
1 orange, juice and zest
1 tsp ground ginger (or fresh ginger)
14 dates

1. Blend the dates and hot water in a blender till chunky or smooth. If there’s no blender available, chop up the dates in a small dice and soak them in the hot water to soften them.
2. Add the cranberries, orange juice and zest, ginger, and date & water paste to the crockpot. Turn on LOW for about 3 hours.
3. When this is done, smash the cranberries with a spoon against the side of the crockpot so they BURST!
4. As the cranberry sauce cools, it will thicken up. This sauce is great hot or cold!
