Leftover herbs for flavored butter

Flavored butter otherwise known as Compound Butter is simply =

Softened butter + herbs + black pepper + shallot + garlic + citrus zest (any flavoring you like)

  • Whip with a stand mixer, hand mixer, or by hand
  • Place into a small dish, bowl, or wrap in plastic wrap or parchment paper
  • When wrapping in plastic or paper, form either into a square and flatten down OR
    • Roll into a log (cylinder) like in the grocery store with cookie dough logs
  • Keep refrigerated or in the freezer because of the flavoring add-ins
  • This will give a very flavorful butter to use for meats, fish, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc
