Flavored butter otherwise known as Compound Butter is simply =
Softened butter + herbs + black pepper + shallot + garlic + citrus zest (any flavoring you like)
- Whip with a stand mixer, hand mixer, or by hand
- Place into a small dish, bowl, or wrap in plastic wrap or parchment paper
- When wrapping in plastic or paper, form either into a square and flatten down OR
- Roll into a log (cylinder) like in the grocery store with cookie dough logs
- Keep refrigerated or in the freezer because of the flavoring add-ins
- This will give a very flavorful butter to use for meats, fish, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc
