You may have some leftovers, but your food safety is not compromised. Here are some tips on handling your leftovers properly:
1. Keep your food out of the temperature danger zone (41°F to 135°F).
2. Wrap or seal your leftover food in airtight containers.
3. Pack leftover food in small serving sizes to cool them faster.
4. Label stored leftovers with name and date.
5. Practice the FIFO method- First In, First Out.
6. Refrigerate or freeze all leftovers within 2 hours after cooking.
7. Leftovers can be kept for 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator or frozen for 3 to 4 months but may lose flavor and moisture.
